Description
Here's an early smooth base square English pickle bottle that we dug from a Civil War period outhouse privy pit with pontiled bottles....this one just missed being pontiled but was definitely blown before 1865 or so......the sunken bottom has a faint English registry "diamond" embHand blown in mold, bimal....early smooth base...crude applied wide mouth ring collar....aqua...square with raised square panels around all 4 sides of bottle....7 1/2"tall....Good condition with no chips or damage. A dug bottle with haze. A sharp rough spot on side mold seam where a little extra glass was squeezed from mold.
