1978 ~ The Lord of the Rings ~ Original Fold-Out Poster

Description

You are looking at an original fold-out poster of the 1978 film  J.R.R. Tolkien's ~ The Lord Of The Rings ~ .  The poster measures 11-3/4" by 8-3/4" when in the folded position.  When open it measures 35" by 11-3/4".  On the front it says - Fantasy Films Presents J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord Of The Rings Directed by Ralph Bakshi Produced by Saul Zaentz United Artists A Transamerica Company.  On the bottom corner on the back it says - 1978 The Saul Zaentz Production Company Berkeley, California. USA All rights reserved.  (the last picture shows a close-up of this).  When you open the poster like a book it exposes the pages in pictures 6 and 7.  They talk about the popularity of the film and that it is scheduled to open in time for Thanksgiving.  It also talks a bit about how the film was made with a new technique in filmmaking.  It is quite interesting to read.  There are three (3) pictures on one side of the folded out poster - The Shire, Frodo and Sam encounter a Ringwraith and The Fellowship of the Ring.  On the other side of the folded out poster there is a picture of - Bilbo Baggins' eleventy-first Birthday.
The poster feel like a thin cardboard / thick paper.  There are twao (2) tiny tiny rips at the bottom of the folds / creases the worst being about 1/8" long.  The bottom corner has a slight fold / crease to it (it has transfered through all of the pages) and the folds of the poster are slightly wrinkled? (they have tiny lines beside the creases / folds)
I think that the poster is in very nice shape especially when you consider its age.  The poster would make a beautiful framed piece of art or a very talked about addition to your Lord Of The Rings collection......
