This stout, 1.3 ounce brass guitar slide is the perfect addition to your tonal arsenal. The Zn67 is a low profile slide that offers solid tone in a small package.
It’s an everyday slide that can ride in your pants pocket, along side your keys, and can be at the ready for an unexpected trip to the guitar store or a jam session at a friend’s house.
Each Zn67 slide is fabricated from the casing of a spent .50 caliber round. The shell is cut to a 1-1/4” playing surface, ground and filed to shape, and then sanded and polished to an appealing finish that will form a rich patina over time (see photo number five for an example of a Zn67 slide that I have been using for the past few months).
This slide can be used on a 6-string guitar, but the benefit of its shorter length really shows through when paired with a three or four-string cigar box guitar. Its wall grows thicker on the bottom end, which lends more meat to the lower strings.
Its shorter length and concentrated weight offers greater finger dexterity and focuses more of the action onto the fingertip, thus making each application to the string feel more like a natural fretting motion.
Due to the nature of the source material, some slides may exhibit flaws on areas outside of the playing surface. These markings are a result of being fired out of a high-power rifle and are inherent to shell casings; however, the playing surface will always be smooth and free of flaws.
The Zn67 Sawed-Off brass casing guitar slide comes with a cotton drawstring carrying bag to protect its finish from the hazards of your everyday carry.
