U.S. World Wide Wolf License Armed Forces Only small tag. Size approx 1 1/4 inches across. The Wolf License, believe created by Benjamin Franklin Falter, Jr. These licenses originally cost about 15 cents apiece and were made of a wartime fiber. These licenses were divided into various categories, such as “Male,” “Female’ “Armed Forces,” “4-F,” and “Over-Age”. These tags were a fad used by mostly Armed forces personnel and also civilians in bars and pubs and other events, as a license to do what was a “Wolf Whistle”. This is a WW2 era tag approx produced around 1945.
