The Monarchs were the longest standing member of the American Negro Leagues. From 1920 until the team's folding in 1965, the Monarchs only had one season without a winning record. The team claimed twelve league titles and two Negro League World Series titles, including the first-ever title in 1924. Whether it was during their time in the Negro National League, their barnstorming days in the Midwest and Canada, or their final days in the Negro American League, the Monarchs lived up to their name of royalty. They seemingly bred Hall of Fame players, and their record bore testament to the skill and tenacity of the players that came through their ranks. Thirteen players on the Monarchs have been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. This includes legends like Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige, Willard Brown, Ernie Banks, Andy Cooper, Bill Foster, Jose Mendez, Cristobal Torriente, Turkey Stearnes, Hilton Smith, Bullet Rogan, Cool Papa Bell, and founder of the team, J. L. Wilkinson.
